Pensacola Lighthouse is a Key Place to Visit in Pensacola
The Pensacola Lighthouse is one of the key landmarks in the whole area. Built in 1859, the Lighthouse stands tall on the grounds of the Naval Air Station. It is 170 feet high and is still in operation today. The history of the Lighthouse dates back to 1825, although the current lighthouse was built 34 years later.
There are guided tours of the Pensacola Lighthouse, available by reservation and has obviously become a big attraction for tourists. What makes it extra enoyable is that the beach is accessible from the Lighthouse and there are picnic tables on the grounds, so you can make it a place to spend the whole day. Times the Pensacola Lighthouse is open includes specific times on the weekend and althought there is an admission charge for adults, children under 5 go free and there are discounts for older children and seniors.
